Water in my outdrive😬😬

So this all got started when I pulled the drive for the beginning of the season. I have a 1989 OMC Cobra 5.0 HO with an OMC outdrive. This all started when I pulled outdrive for beginning of the season maintenance. I noticed a tear in the drive shaft bellows so I replaced that and checked and greased everything and made sure everything was good. Refilled it ran it on the muffs and everything worked fine. Then I noticed it leaking oil from the prop shafts so I picked up the seals and o-rings and was going to change everything today. Drained the oil into a clean pan to reuse. It drained for about 5 min and then all of a sudden just a stream of water came out and then back to oil. On either side of that clear water the oil was not milky. Obvoiusly the oil is shot, but where would that water come from. I am going to pull the outdrive and look things over. It,s funny because after I ran it on the muffs I let it sit and checked the dip stick to see if I needed to add any oil and it was at the mark so I was good. It was clean oil then too. What other things do I need to check? Thanks

So I need to finish the prop seals and the O rings on the carrier and the 4 bolts before I do the pressure test correct?

So obviously I am watching to see if the pressure drops. Is there anything else I need to look for besides a drop in pressure? If the pressure does drop how do I know where it’s leaking?

make sure you are spinning the drive in gear. static seals dont leak, however moving seals may.

Also there is a seal on the water pump shaft behind the water pump mounting plate, that can leak and put water into the drive oil even just running on the water hose.

If you are loosing pressure, get a spray bottle with water and dish soap pix, spay around seals and watch for bubbles.
I think there was a demo of it in video #2 posted above.

I watched both of the videos....nothing about using a spray bottle. I get the concept though. Is there water circulating through the cavity where the water pump is when it’s running? I see a rubber grommet in the bottom of that cavity that looks like water would drain out through it.
