Hey all... bad news in a 1994 Seaswirl Striper, Ford 5.0 carbed, OMC Cobra OD... changed oil for winterization and noticed it was like chocolate milk... Where should I start? Risers and mans are a few years old... Cyl. head gaskets? Is there some kind of test I can do? It's on a trailer.

Also, does anyone know where the drain plugs for the block are on these things?

Thanks, wish me luck

Re: water in oil...... Ford 5.0

There is a petcock on both sides - Starboard is near the front & port is towards the back...I would completely remove them and stick an awl or hanger in there to make sure that nothing is obstructing the water draining....Are you fresh water cooled or raw water cooled? I would suspect the mans/riseres first....Cracked block or blown head gasket, too....How fast did it turn the oil? I would pull the mans/risers and pressure test them (as a single unit)....Some times they leak between the mating surfaces....You need to get thet oil changed and get the water out of the engine ASAP....Look in the 'search' function "water in oi" there is a ton of info..& GOOD LUCK!...JK

Raw water cooled.
I can easily remove a riser and look if that's a way to go...
It took a while to look like that... 2 months maybe...
It's got fresh oil in it now for the winter.. should I wait till spring to deal with this?

thanks for your help...

No, if any water is present in your bearings, esp. salt water it may allready be too late....Didn't you notice the oil turning?...JK
