i recently bought a boat with a honda fourstroke did a tune up, after about eight hours noticed the oil was millky, first i did a atf clean out and oil change, also the thermostat was stuck open so i changed it with the gasket,
i ran it for a couple hours on the hose and didnt see any milk on the dipstick for two days, ran it in the watter for two hours and didnt see any milky for another24 hours. this weekend i pulled the head and changed the gasket the head had some pitting but nothing that wouldnt be sealed in i think,
today ive put 5 warm ups and cool downs wich took a hour and a half of running on the hose, the dip stick is still clean but im getting a bit of milk on the valve cover every time, none of the oil around the head or camshaft is milky just the valve cover, any thoughts

You have seals in the primary gearcase that can be comprimised if that gearcase has not been hung with the adequate delicacy.Replacing those seals requires powerhead removal and can be quite a job. If you are convinced that all other options have been exhausted, thats where I'd go.

that would show up if the motor was in the water would it not? ive been running it on the hose ony for now, im kinda hoping that it is just leftover moisture from when the water was in there, ive heard it takes a bit of running and a few oil changes to get it all out.
