Water in Outdrive

Well I took the boat out last week and put it back on the lift. Re-Winterized it again LOL but unable to get to the plugs on Outdrive to make sure there was no water in it. Now the weather has turned bad! (Sub freezing for several days). I guess I'm asking how much water has to be in the outdrive to crack it??
I have a Volvo motor (V8 305)and outdrive (STX (I believe))

u need to by a impact driver
if u leave it in the water u could be ok

well its out of the water on the lift.....SH!T (but in the down position)
I guess i was really asking how much water has to be in the sterndrive to cause damage?? and how will i know it has cracked the next time I go down to the dock??
