A friend of mine I am helping out changed the sending unit in his bay boat and installed it the wrong direction. After that he washed his boat and soapy water got in the tank because it wasn't sealed to the floor very well. We pumped roughly 13 gallons of the soapy water out on the lake the next day through the fuel pump and by using the primer bulb. We removed and changed the brushes and cleaned the starter last night because we burnt it up cranking it so much, it was about half dead already anyway. It cranked up and ran last night better than I have ever seen it. Should we drain the rest of the fuel, check anything in the motor, or any other precautions? Thanks in advance for the help.

Titl the boat up as high as possible, put the pump pickup on the lowest part of the tank, Pump out as much water as you can with a non sparking pump. Install a water seperator in the fuel line, and carry a spare element in the boat.

I think there's already a water separator on it, not real familiar with them. Do they need to be emptied or cleaned? I've been told something about a bowl also. Just starting to try and learn all of this stuff.

Nevermind, it's an inline. Probably need to get a better one. Thanks for the help.
Any recommendations on a pump to get the water out? I'll have to go buy one.
