Re: Water in the boat.

Welcome to iboats.

As 204 sadi normally water comes in through the bellows, the rubber around the center of the outdrive, inspect that really well to make sure that isn't it, when the go really bad they can sink the boat pretty quick.

Good idea to get it dry then get it in the water and stick your head in the engine bay with a flash light and see if you can narrow down where it is coming from.

is the water hot or cold? if its pretty hot, the your leak is in the exhaust system, ex bellow, risers, y-pipe etc. its hard to see these leaks on some boats. you have get down under the y-pipe to see if its leaking

Re: Water in the boat.

My bellows would only leak when the outdrive was up. Couldn't see the leak until one day we were parked at the dock and I heard it running in.

How much water in how long a time frame. Do you get the water in the boat if you just put it in the water without running it. If you run it on the muffs do you get the water.

Garboard plug could not be sealed well. Through hull fitting could be leaking. Million other possibilities.

Any info on the conditions that exist creating the water might help us troubleshoot.

How about when you hose or was down your hull? Water will drain into the hull.

Re: Water in the boat.

We found one of the drains on the exhaust was off. Maybe it was leaking from there. We tightened up. All the hoses are changed, and it wasn't leaking there. When running on the muffs no water coming in, but like someone said we may need to verify this in the water. After putting it in the lake we will advise.
