water in VRO tank

I have a 2003 Johnson Outboard 150hp model J150PXSRB which I purchased last fall. Engine looks in great condition but before I ran it for the first time (since I got it) I sucked some oil from the bottom of the VRO tank to check for water and junk and discovered it has water in it. What should be my next move? is it OK to tip the tank on a corner, let it sit and then suck out all the water, or do I need to remove all oil and clean the tank?

Clean the oil tank.---Replace the filter.-----Fill oil tank.----Remove air from hose .---Attach hose to VRO.--Operate oil primer bulb to prime VRO.--Mix first tank with 50:1.----Verify that VRO is injecting oil.----Hopefully previous owner did not run it with water injection.

Thank you.
Is that the filter in the VRO tank? will it have a part number on it, or is there a way I can look it up? also.. It doesn't seem like XD25 (as specified in the manual) oil is available any more. Can I use XD30 or XD50?

The filter in the tank is an OE part. You can find part number for filter on-line.

XD25 is an obsolete/discontinued oil. You can run any TCW 3 oil in it. I run XD50 and Pennzoil Premium Plus in mine. Far less smoke than XD30

1) Either someone left drain plug in and submerged oil tank. 2) Has a remote oil fill that is leaking 3) Need to do a compression test

There is only one black tube with yellow stripe going to engine. So no remote fill that I can see. Black cap looks in good condition, so not sure if replacing it will help. will definitely do a compression check. The engine was last in a marina in 2016. The oil is blue so I'm thinking it is XD50, or? Don't know enough to experiment at this point. Thanks for the replies.
