Water Jacket Rust

I have a lot of rust in my water jacket that I plan to treat. My question is what can I do afterward to prevent, or slow down, the recurrence of more rust? I'm thinking of dumping paint inside, rotating the block to cover everything, then dumping the excess.

Ayuh,.... Don't,.... It's perfectly normal for there to be rust in the coolin' jacket,....

If ya paint it, there'll be rust, 'n paint chips pluggin' things up,...

It's a Non-issue,....

Just knock it outa the way when ya drain the block,...

Yep just as Bondo says... Don't do anything except poke it when winterizing so water drains.
