Almost done with my 82 Evinrude 140 
. Found a few leaks and have them fixed except for this one. Where the discharge is in the "bubble back" for the tell tale is spraying a little water onto the thermostat housing. I tried putting a bunch of Teflon tape on it and that stopped most of it so then tried Teflon tape and some marine gasket sealer on it but it still leaks a small amount. The plastic fitting won't screw in completely tight like the threads are stripped but the threads are good on the plastic fitting. Is this something I should be concerned about? Is it going to hurt anything to leak a little? Any suggestions on stopping it from leaking? I was thinking about trying some RTV. Thanks for the help! Hopefully can water test in the next few days if it raining long enough
