My 1989 Four Winns 225 Sundowner with a 5.7 Cobra drive has water coming in somewhere around the stern drive. It is hard to see exactly where it is getting in. Anything that might be an obvious probably. I pulled the stern drive and the drive shaft bellows is dry. Getting ready to pull the gimbal assembly.

Ayuh,.... Appears in yer pictures to be from the y-pipe, or possibly above it,...

One way to know for Sure, is to pull the motor, put the drive back on, 'n back the boat into the water, then have a Looksee,...

Would a hole in the y pipe be visible once the motor is out of the way?

I don't think it is a y pipe. I pulled the left side riser, stuffed a hose in the back of the exhaust where the bellows connect. I turned on the water till the y pipe was about ready to overflow, but no leaks inside the boat. Is there some kind of seal around the hole that was cut in the transom that could be leaking?

Ayuh,.... There is,.... If it's leakin', the usual cause is a rotten transom,....

That has been my fear. I will see after I remove the engine.
