water leaking

I have a Johnson 9.5 hp not sure of the year because data plates are missing, I just replaced the water pump impeller and when I start the motor I have water coming from the side and top of the powerhead, what can this be?

it is possible the water tube may have come adrift during assembly.

from the lower unit or the powerhead?

There is a hole covered by top part of the recoil.-----Maybe just needs a new gasket there.
