water not ejecting out of the motor!!

hello<br /> I have a 6hp sea king and It doesn't want to let water out of the water hole. Thinking of the water pump, if there is a water pump. Or is there just a impeller? And if so would a novice be able to fix it or do I need a professional? It Started up great and ran great for the little time I had it running. <br />this is a motor in the 70's.and after I fix it. What would the value be.(approx.)<br /> Thank you in advance!!!

Water pump/impeller are interchangeable terms for an outboard. Does the cylinder head or exhaust plate get hot when you run it? If not, try pulling the tell-tale hose from the fitting on the block and run a small piece of stiff wire in the fitting to make sure it isn't corked up. Check NADA.com for a value, though they seem to be a bit low in my opinion.
