I just bought a 19' center console with a 1988 evinrude 150 V6. the motor hangs on a fixed jack plate because it's a long shaft motor. This is undoubtedly an attempt to get it high enough on the transom to make it work on the boat. Problem is when on a plane any attempt to trim up causes water to cascade over the transom. The water is coming up between the jack plate and the transom mount on the motor. Any thoughts or similar experiences?
