Thanks to the help of this board I think I may have fixed my intermittent temp sensor alarm at low speeds problem but I want to ask your opinions.
here is what I have done.
1. Installed thermostat kit that I think the mechanic just took out.
2. decarbed-readings before decarb 110, 120, 120. After decarb 115, 125, 123
3. installed water pressure gauge-here are the readings i received with motor in a test tank
1100 rpm 2 psi
2000 rpm 5psi
3000 rpm 10psi
didn't want to go any higher in the test tank. Are these readings OK?
ran the motor 3 times in 15 minute increments in the test tank at 1100-1200 rpm, slightly higher than idle. The temp alarm did not go off. I couldn't get it on the water because the lake is so low.
I touched the top of the head after each 15 minute session and could leave my hand on it for about 2-3 seconds before I had to take it off.
Is this normal?
the stream out of the two exhaust holes was not real strong. spit out about 1.5 to 2 feet. Water was hot to the touch.
Any thoughts?
thanks again for your help.
