water pressure gauge on 68 lark

How do install a water pressure guage onto an outboard? is it in line with the water pump or is it off a T peice? I would like to fit one to mine since it is difficult to tell if the pump is working (water exits engine back down through the leg and out the bottom).

You usually tap into the block or head somewhere. Specifically on yours? I dunno. Sometimes they have small pipe taps predrilled from the factory, but I can't remember for yours.

that's fine, I can fit tap into the block easily enough, now, before or after thermostat? I would guess before, but better to bee safe than sorry.
