I have a water pressure guage for my engine but am uncertain as to where to attach the water pressure tube (on the engine) that makes the guage work. I had this hooked up to the exhaust cover on a Johnson engine but I just bought a 1976 Merc 20 H.P. 200 series engine and the instructions are not very clear as to where I should tap in or attach the water tube that goes up to the guage. all help appreciated

A common place to tap into is the telltale outlet. Find the fitting on the block, replace it with a "T" then install the telltale on one side and the pressure gauge fitting on the other side.

Hope you have a low pressure gauge, preferably 0-15PSI. At idle with a new impeller you may see 2-5 PSI and 12-15 PSI at WOT.

Moody Blue, Thanks for the info,I pull the cowling off and try to locate the tell tale at the block. I assume that would be a rubber hose to the pee hole from the engine block? lostatsea
