Water pressure guage need help Faststrike

I was in the process of putting in a new guage and the fitting where the water should of been coming out , it wasn't so I tried to remove it and it snapped off.My question is there seems to be an Identical one on the port side that is plugged could I use that one instead? the motor is a 1990 Johnson faststrike V6 150 hp

Theres two tapped holes on each of those heads. One goes into the water jacket for the pressure gauge. The other is where you can screw in a temp sender. <br /><br />You can read pressure from either head. No problem.

Oops!! wait -- I read too fast. There is no 60* Faststrike in 1990. What motor do you have?

it should read 1991 serial number is 2956027
