How do you install a water pressure guage on a 2002 Merc 115 4-stroke. Does it have electrical connections or just a vacuum line?

Depends, if you use a electrical guage then there would be a sending unit and wires to the pressure guage. If you use a mechanical guage then there would be a plastic hose from the block to the back of the guage. Electrical are generally easier to use because you only have to run wires from the back of the boat to the front and not worry about cutting or getting a kink in the hose leading to no reading or a inaccurate reading.

Re: Water pressure guage

I have a vacuum line already run from another motor that was on the boat, but the old guage wouldn't work with the new motot. I just noticed that the old guage has two wires and a vacuum hook-up. Could the wires just be for a light? The mechanic who installed the motor said I had to have a 30psi guage and the old one is a 20psi. If the hose that is there is already hooked up to the block shouldn't I be able to just connect it to a new gauge and it will work?
