Re: water pressure

As far as I now, there aren't any factory specs for water pressure so you have to make your own. Any deviation from them and you know you have a problem. I'll take a water pressure gauge over a high-temp horn any day. Just gotta remember to watch it. Other than that your numbers sound about right, so if they start fluctuating youll know you have a problem, gl

Re: water pressure

I have a 93 Johnny 120 and I average around 8 at idle, and 25 at WOT. I have not put a new pump in for a few years,so this could explain the difference. How does that motor run, what size/kind of boat do you have it on. My motor is a house.

Re: water pressure

The ideal way to install a water pressure gauge is to also install a new water pump. Then note the idle and wide open throttle water pressures. Down the road, any deviation from those numbers provides an indication something going wrong.
