Spring has sprung and I want to be on the water.
I noticed this last season, a slight water problem that only occurs on the starboard side of my boat. It has bothered me and there are some traceable watermarks in the aft cabin area closest to the bow.
I think I might have figured it out. Water travels down the bimini top pipes. It enters in under the canvas and then runs onto the fibreglass. It makes its way between the stick counsel and flows between it and the fibreglass; it now is between the deck and the boat bow. It then saturates the headliner in the aft cabin area-causing discoloration on the headliner.
Has anyone else noted problems, my boat are a 1999 Commodore 242. What is the solution, I'm considering using 1/4 inch foam weatherstrip on the back of the stick mount, which is covered with vinyl.1
