Water pump, 1998 Johnson

I have a 1998 Johnson 30 hp motor. I took the water pump off of the lower unit and noticed that the gasket was flaking off. Do I have to buy a water pump kit or do I just need to buy a replacement gasket. Also when I turn the prop by hand I can hear the impeller rubbing on something.
