Question...
I just installed a new water pump and impeller on a '77 35 HP Johnson last night. I hand-turned the impeller this morning and noticed it was a little harder to turn than when I turned it before I installed the pump. Resistance seemed to come after I put the pump on.
Was wonderinf if this was normal and/or does the pump have a break-in period?
Also, is there any danger of gasket sealant squishing into the pump when you tighten the bolts, clogging a water channel or the like?
Thanks for the info!
