Water pump change

Good morning all. I have a 98 Force 120. I am about to change my first water pump as preventative maint. Is there anything special I need to know or any special lubes or seals I need before I start? I was going to remove the old pump and take it with me to the parts house. I also noticed there is some play in the prop. That is to say... it feels like the prop is under spring presure when I push toward the front of the boat. Is this normal and do I need to correct while the lower unit is off the motor. The play is probably around 1/4"? Thanks for your replies in advance<br /><br />MCAT121212

When you go to the parts house, I'd take the model and serial # with you as well.
