1988johnson 90hp Probably easy for someone seasoned but after I replaced the water pump the foot is leaking does anyone have a diagram of the pump to see if maybe I misplaced a o ring. Water is coming out the pisser but also the front of the foot the back of the foot in front of the Stone the weep hole in front of the intakes, the replacement went pretty easy

I just did an OMC 89 140, I think it is similar. If your kit had two o-rings, the larger one goes under the impeller and the small one goes at the top of the drive shaft near the splines.

This was the kit, there was a large o ring that didn't fit anyhere and seal that was way too small to fit any shafts also the 2 plastic pipes were not used, was there a o ring that should of also went on top of the impeller?

Thanks for the advise, I'm gonna tank test tomorrow but I'm betting it's the water tube.

From what I can tell from the diagram o ring 79 is what I missed shows it goes between the stainless Bowl and upper pump housing. Tho the videos and instructions don't show it

Looks like the large O ring seal goes inside the pump housing where the driveshaft goes through it.
There should be a groove for it in the housing and it is supposed to be glued with OMC adhesive in 4 places.

Looks like the small O ring goes at the top of the driveshaft near the splines.

The original 1988 manual is the same as the brp website but it has detail on exactly where the large O ring goes & how to fit it.

It's hard to explain but the large one goes in the shaft part of the housing not the impeller part of the housing.

The rubber bushing on the right did not match anything that came off of it but I found the O ring on the left sitting under the seat and I can only figure the cat knocked it down is that the O ring that goes between the stainless cup in the plastic housing at the top of the pump. I have the O-ring installed below the impeller on top of a stainless plate, the Big O ring on the outer diameter of the pump housing is also installed. Now can I take the foot off put a sock on it and low pressure and check for leaks without issue to verify or would that be fruitless?

Yep that was the O ring I missed, got it in there but it started raining so haven't tried it, now what would that other seal be for as it didn't fit anywhere and old one didn't have it

The other thing looks like it could be an aftermarket # 72.
