I have a 2002 225 EFI Mecury outboard. Water was peeing fine earlier this year, last weekend I noticed it had diminished to a fine mist and now nothing... what is involved in accessing the problem along with fixing and then cost for something like this. Can I remove the lower unit and check to see what the problem realy is? How long does it take to repair normaly? Is a water pump something that is major job on this size engine? Not sure when or where problem occured, can't remember hitting bottom and not sure why a new engine would stop peeing like this.... only have had it back in the water for two months this year..

First thing I would do is to check the waterpump indicator nipple and hose leading to it for obstruction. You should be able to clear the nipple with a paper clip or similar tool.If that's not the problem, trace the hose back to the engine block and disconnect it and see if it is obstructed.

I was refering to the "pee" hole itself. There is a hose under the motor cover that routes water from the engine block to this fitting.

Rob...check the teltale?? i think its called, where the water 'pees' out the back for sand. Lift the cowling, and on the rear of the motor, pull that hose where the water is supposed to come out. Run a paperclip or some really small object through there to clean it. I used to have a clean out screw in hose attachment area on the back of my Merc, if you do it will be a little nut back there where the water pees out. Unscrew that, hook a hose up to it, run the hose, pull the 'pee' hose and check for obstruction.
