I used silicone to glue the orings into the water pump cover and base. The Aviation was used to stick the gaskets to the waterpump. Grease on everything else.
Having a heck of a time finding the 847 locally. Don't feel like waiting for and paying for shipping. Not many marine dealers around here and West Marine doesn't even show it on the website and that's the only local marine dealer. Otherwise there are auto parts stores. Closest I find is 3M yellow Super Weatherstrip and Gasket adhesive which I think is 3M 1300.
Good to know. I'll assume that the Sierra Bellows adhesive I can get locally is the same. I'm in Arlington VA just across the river from Washington D.C. A decent marine supply store is a ways away in traffic.
Another possibility for getting a tube of 847 is to call your local Grainger supply, and see if they have it in stock. If not, they can usually get it for you overnight. Supposedly NAPA also carries 847.
