Maybe old news or a non-issue for many. However, as I continue to age (why is that?), arthritis and loss of hand dexterity have made installing the pump housing over the impeller increasingly difficult. Turning the drive shaft and pushing down on the pump housing, then lining up the bolt holes is becoming more and more of a problem. Then when I finally think I've got it, I find the gasket has moved slightly so the holes don't line up.

This time, tried a different approach. Got 3 pieces of threaded rod (6mm x 1.0mm, about 1 1/2" long for my motor) and inserted them through the gasket and threaded them into the bolt holes. Then, slid the pump housing down over the rods while turning the drive shaft. Once bottomed out, I replaced the rods, one at a time, with the hold-down bolts. Much easier for me.
