water pump housing size

I put on a new water pump kit today. I fit just fine but the housing itself is thinner than the one that was one it. It also came with shorter bolts to attach it. I was a little concerned it was the wrong pump. Is this normal?

if you used a sierra pump the are not the OEM pump. they are copies. but will work fine.
