How often should the water pump be replaced? How much does a kit or parts cost? Is it an easy process? The motor is a Mercury 40ELPTO. Thanks.

I'd suggest every two to three years. The entire kit for my Johnson was around $60 which comes with everything you will need. Very simple straight forward job if you have any mechanical aptitude.

Thanks. I just picked up a used 2002 DV-16 and thought I would replace.

The water pump kit was only $30 at BPS.
