Got the engine runing on its own with the garden hose hooked to it. Water is definitely blowing out the exhaust but isn't it supposed to be coming out the small holes above the prop too?

Ok
Thanks

Moving on to fixing the trim motor.
That may be my next question. Lol
I know one of the solenoids needs to be replaced but the wire even though showing a connection with enough to turn on a test light doesn't have any load resistance to it. Not even a spark when bridging the connection past the solenoid. I am curious what the rheostat switch (looks like a volume control knob) hooked to it does.

I probably should have called that a variable resistor instead of a rheostat.

Moved this into the OMC section.

What rheostat are you referring to?

Note: A variable resistor and rheostat are the same thing.

Sorry for putting it in the wrong location and causing extra work.
The the variable resistor is located in the front of the motor mount & meshes with the worm gear of the output shaft of the trim motor.

It appears that the brushes in the trim motor are either stuck or need replacing. The trim sending unit will self adjust itself after the trim has been completely cycled a few times.

Got a trim gauge on the dashboard? That would be the sender for the gauge.

I'm not positive but I think the motor ran down (trimmed up) before I knew what was moving. It is in it's lowest position now.

There isn't a garage or spot for one on the dash.

More testing in the morning. I have to order the solenoid also.
