I had a new water pump installed, and now I notice that there is a slight leak of water just above the foot, coming from the mid-section of the motor. It appears that it is leaking behind the covers that hold the lower mount for the cylinders, Is the normal? If not Will it hurt anything to leak here? Water flow appears the same as before water pump was replaced. Please help. Evinrude 115hp V-60 1996

Re: Water pump Install

For clarification... flow out the pee hole appears to be the same. Also the cylinders I refer to are the hydraulic type for the power trim. Again the leak I'm worried about is behind the lower mount covers on the middle section of the motor.
Thanks for any reply before I worry myself to death...:)

Re: Water pump Install

That would be water that has escaped from where the drive shaft enters the water pump and is completely normal. That's why they put the holes there that the water is coming from.

You might have left the grommet off the shift rod, or it may have moved out of place.

Thanks guys, you have put my worried mine to rest a little. I will check that grommet for the shifter. I think I can see it by just lossing up the foot bolts, with out dealing with or removing the shifter linkage. :)

Re: Water pump Install

Well dropped foot again and no problems were found, and it still leaks slightly.. What would happen if an 115SL kit was installed on a 115GL motor? My model # is E115GLEDR, so if a kit for the E115SLEDR and was installed? Would some water get miss directed?
