Water pump kit on a stringer?

I have ordered a kit for the water pump on a 1973 140 HP Stringer.
I had a look at a manual that suggests one should check out the swivel housing and water pipe while one has it apart for the water pump.
I have not done one of these before.
Are there other gaskets or o-rings etc that would be needed if one does take apart the swivel houseing and water flow pipe?
If so, what parts am I likely to need or want?

You can inspect the swivel housing and the water pipe without further disassembly.

Ok, I'll bite. What am I looking for when I "inspect"?
The manual, and I am sorry, I cannot say which one as it was something on the net and it did not indicate what it was that I saw - Seloc maybe - not factory, so far as I could tell.
In any event, it appeared that they were recommending that one dismantle the assembly.
I see that the swivel housing gasket and the water pipe appear to be readily available.
Does that indicate they are something that gets changed periodically?

What does the water pipe fit into? Are there seals of some sort?

As I suggested at the outset, I have ordered some parts and if I need more, I would like to have them on hand rather than tear into it and then wait for more parts.

yes there are seals on the swivel housing that need to be in good shape (where the upper and lower mates up)

also while you are in there , be sure to grease the splines of the water pump shaft.
