OK Mates, I got this impeller kit but I can't figure out where these O rings go, none where on there when I disassembled it. 1997 Mercury 3 Cyl. 90 HP Sr# OG539183
Thanks, Ed

Those WP kits were made to service a lot of motors. They found it easier to include all the parts and not have a million part #s .So just save them and don't worry.J

OK, but most of the illustrations on replacing the impeller there is a seal on the shaft above the housing and is removed and replaced, but there was noting there when I removed the unit.

So it dose not need anything on the shaft and I replace it just the way I found it?

Thanks again, Ed

If you're referring to the seal that sits just above the housing. It referred to as a 'slinger' seal. its for keeping any gunk from sliding down the shaft and collecting on the top of the housing.

It's just odd that it did not have one, I wonder if one of the O rings would be OK to slide on there and reinstall the unit?

If it fits on the shaft that may very well be what its for.

Since it didn't have anything in the first place I figured one of the rings would not hurt it, so I did install one and lays on the cover and she pees just fine.
Thanks all, Ed
