water pump questiom..1990 150 evinrude

so i dropped the lower half of my rude and i to check and see if the water pump was good and it was.. i changed the oil in the casing ,went through carbs,let me add there was only one thermostat on this engine and it was stuck open, so i changed both of them and put everything back together,, now it was running before i took everything off and i went to put everything back on with new gaskets and such and not it is not running right.. i took pictures before i took anything off so i would deff know were everything goes back.. its all back to how it was. i go to start it up and i dont get any water coming out of the telltale and there has been some milky oil residue coming out from were theexhaust and the prop meet.let me add that i have only ran it foe 30 seconds at the most.. i dont know what else i should do, water did pump out before and when i had the lower half off i sprayed water to make sure the hole wasnt clogged and its not..please help me...

go back put new impeller in, sounds as if your has taken a "set". also make sure the key is in the impeller, and that the shaft is spinning the impeller. also make sure you do not pinch the grommet where the water tube meets the pump.
