Water Pump Question

A buddy of mine has a 4.3L Chevy engine on his I/O that needs a water pump. Will a standard automotive replacement work or does he need a special type since it is installed in a boat?

Yes an auto pump can be used, but they do not last as long, if this is going to on a salt water engine, it probably won't even last a year.

Ayuh,... Unless his waterpump is Leaking, it's probably Fine...
Installing an automotive circulating pump will only last a very short time...

Is he Sure he doesn't just need a new Impeller in the raw water pump,..??
