Hey guys, its my first time, I am installing a new water pump on my 86' 25 hp johnson, and I have three seals I can't 100% verify where they go in this equation. I havent found any of the three when taking apart the old pump. I took pictures of the three seals and the rest of the kit put together and ready to install. The two small orings are probably too loose to just fit down the driveshaft... idk.. and the big one im not positive..

also, the open end of the impeller(the slot for the key) should be facing down, correct?

Don't mind the white or blue stuff, just white lithium grease and spindle grease.tn.jpgtnk.jpgtns.jpg

You just replace the parts you took out of the pump. Various kits often include a few parts that may not be needed for your application but by adding them it makes that one kit work for a lot more different motors. Its a lot cheaper for the manufacturer to do it that way rather than one kit just for your motor alone.

After looking at the parts diagram one more time searching for the uses for them o-rings, I noticed I do not have the impeller spacer, and one wasn't in the water pump at all since I've owned the boat in 09', but this parts diagram calls for one on this motor. What the hell gives, y wouldn't one be in there, and does my motor need one of these or not? Part #64, I'd imagine #41 are the two o-rings i was originally asking about, and #45 is the big one in the picture that I'm still unclear about

Impeller should touch/ spin on bottom plate. Not sure why a spacer is needs.

from what I hear the spacer acts to keep the spiral of water from going up the shaft to prevent driveshaft rust, which mine had a bit of, but im really not sure, and i just realized it might be tucked in the upper shaft
