Water Pump Repair on 9.5 HP Johnson ('64)

You can say I'm a real greenhorn when it comes to outboard repair work. I have purchased a new water pump to replace the currently out-of-commission water pump. My question is, is there anything "special" I should take into consideration before attempting this repair? Any helpful, time saving hints? Hello, Jeremy.<br /><br />Yes. The first thing to consider is that anyone who tries to work on any outboard without a Manual has a fool for a wrench. (That is almost a quote from Steelspike)<br /><br />Click on Repair Manuals at the bottom of the page.<br /><br />Good luck.
