I will be attempting to change my water pump and impeller on my 28 hp johnson outboard. From reading other posts I will let you know I do have the repair manual but do I need to replace any gaskets or seals when doing this work? I also see talk of replacing t-stats at this time is this necessary? The motor is very clean and runs like a top. I am not looking to do any unnecessary work (if it aint broke dont fix it). I called a local shop and hes thinkin worst case $200.00 for the work so I will try to save a few bucks and do it myself. Any comments or helpful hints would be appriaciated. <br /> Mod# J28ESLEOC. Also the reason Im doing the work is I think the water is taking about 5 to 7 seconds to come out of the pee hole is this normal. I have had the boat for two years and I dont know when anywork has been done to it. Im thinking when I used to start the motor it started peeing sooner is this just my imagination? Sorry for all the rambling but thanks for the advice in advance!!!!
