I just bought an '04 starcraft stardeck aurora 2000 with the volvo 5.0L.

I've got a toggle switch to the right of the driver (where the throttle is). It says "water pump." What is this for?? It's not the bilge pump switch (that is separate).

thanks.

by reading your post about the water tank. The switch labeled water pump turns the water on to your sink and shower. Dont know bout where the tank is. Should be in the owners manual that came with the boat.

OHHHHHHHHHH, so you think I fill the water tank through the "gas cap like valve" and then to actually use the sink or shower I flip the switch? (I haven't tried the shower yet and for the sink I'm missing the faucet part).

What confuses me though is the sink part has a "pump" on it. So I didn't realize it would be pressurized by an electric pump.

Does your boat have a live well. It could be used to fill the well with water.
Look on the back of the boat down by your drain plug is there more than one hole. If there is more than one hole one of them may be used for water intake for the live well.

I do have a live well, but that is a different switch. i think it is probably for the shower, although unfortunately I haven't been able to try it yet.

RVs generally have a battery powered water pump for potable water, as well as a hand operated pump at the sink. At least mine did.

If you have separate pumps for the sink and shower, then the switch is probably for the shower and the sink is operated at the faucet. That is how my Grady is set up.

And lots of them are on demand pumps.
That way they don't run all the time, just when needed.
