What is the correct torque specs for the nuts and screws that secure the water pump cover. Referencing the service manual pages 3B-8 and 3B-52 and there is conflicting information. And, speaking of screws, reference the parts explosion, is part 36 really necessary?

Thanks for the help!

those number are correct, 30-40 INCH POUNDS

Thanks, BtDoctur! What about the nuts? section 38-52 states 60-80 while section 38-4 states 90. And, is the self-tapping course thread screw necessary? And if so, is it OK to use a flat, Phillips head stainless?

1/4 inch drive socket and wrist action is all you need to tighten the nuts and screw. I find most people mash then down so tight it warps the base and housing .
screw or bolt, either one is acceptable but it is needed.
