Water Relief Hose Help???

I am repairing my Johnson 2 stroke motor and a hose came lose that I believe relieves the water intake, but now I am not sure where it goes?? Can someone help?

Need more info. What model/year motor? Where is this hose? Pictures?

Well maybe it is just the hose / tube for the speedometer.----Best to post pictures or a very clear description along with model # of the motor.
