Do you all use teflon tape for a brass to aluminum fitting? The instructions
from Attwood are non existent. Although this looks pretty simple, even an
old coot might be able to do the job. Regards, old jim

Lot's of arguments for this but I believe the fuel filter housings use NPT fittings.
NPT fittings should use a lubricant. A liquid would be best but tape would work too. Leave the 1st two threads bare or dry.

Re: Water separating fuel filter kit

I went through the same question about a month ago and found that Teflon tape should not be use because small pieces can break off and get into the jets in the carberators. I ended up with a lubricant made for gas fuel lines. There s a yellow Teflon tape for gasoline use but the same holds true for the small pieces. I suppose if the ends of the threads are left bare it should be fine with the yellow type. The white is not to be used for gasoline.
