I recently purchased a nu boat w/ 1986 70 Johnson VRO it ran fine through 1 1/2 tanks of gas. Took it out a few days later and it had no power at wot. The Boat Doctor i took it too blamed bad gas (Water and Old Oil gunk) either from second tank or station or both ?

He cleand the carbs and it ran great through 2 more tanks of gas today.

Would a water sperator possibly prevented the origional problem ?

Can you find these babies at Walmart ?

Mount it where it will be convenient to replace. I recommend them for any motor that you want to keep running.

How can you tell if your boat has the water sepatator already installed on it? I'm in the same boat as nuboat (new boat owner)

Jumper, follow the fuel line from the motor back to the tank, if you have a water separator you'll stumble on it.
