We recently bought this boat about a month ago and it was really waterspotted. so i used some neratic acid to get all the spots off, it worked perfect and looked great. I put a coat of wax on the boat. weve used it about 8 times or so since that and wiped it down really good after we get it out of the water. I am starting to get waterspots again. Is there anything i can use to rid these again? I know the acid works but its such a harsh chemical id like to find something not so harsh. Thanks!

Try Zing. It's a bit less harsh. Wet the surface first and then apply. It spreads-out better and you'll use less. You can get Zing just about anyplace you can get boat stuff.

Re: Water spots. Remover?

I have to admit I am one of those who sit back and read but have to answer this post because I had the same problem with my boat especially on the lower unit. My brother is a car body repair person and he said do not use that kitchen stuff on your boat as it will surely damage your clear coat and fast. My Ranger cost over 35k and I sure don't want to take any chances. I read about a guy that advertises on another site his name is Skeeter. He sells some stuff called Boat Restore and Wonderfoam. I am not a person to jump at every post I see about a product but this product has thread after thread of very positive posts on walleye central. So, long story short I bought some. Wonderfoam takes off the grim, waterspots and mineral deposits like nothing I have ever seen. I applied the restore which is a cleaner wax after I got the boat and motor clean and the boat looks new. I do put the restore on about every 3erd time out of the water but both products take no effort at all to use. Easiest clean up I have ever seen. Not sure if I can post the site I ordered it from but the mod delete it if they want. www.larsensales.com Good luck. Bill

that Zing is what i used, couldnt remember the name, the dealer told me it was a neuratic acid... forgot to mention, i use a liquid spray wax after i get the boat home. EVERY TIME!! so it really has about 8 coats of wax on it.. i thought this would help keep the waterspots off and it does, kind of. How harsh is that foam stuff?

Not harsh at all. Don't even need gloves. Says on bottle that it is biodegradeable even. Have used both products several times in the last few months. Best stuff I have come accross. Even use the restore on the truck. Best shine it has ever had. Bill
