Hello, I have a 1995 Mercruiser 5.7 carb model with 2 things I’d like to resolve. 1. The steering arm apparently has been wearing on the water supply hose and it’s got a slit and close to opening up. Curious if anyone knows the hose size prior to me pulling it out? I assume regular old radiator type hose?
2. last year I was having hard start issues with the electric fuel pump. Got some great advice here and removed the 2 prong oil pressure switch and replaced with a 3 prong. Things were good. This year same deal of hard start due to fuel pump not priming up. Direct connect and pump is fine. Someone had mentioned a relay or a switch to prime the pump before start up and I wondered if anyone would elaborate on it so I do it correctly? Thanks

Hose is formed

Check the pump feed to the crank circuit. Pump should prume during cranking

Is there a part name or number to order the formed hose? I don’t have that info or might you steer me toward where to get it? Thanks
