I have had my boat for about a year and this has never happened before...I have a 2004 Johnson 140 4 stroke - we had the boat out for about 20 min at "average" speed, then went to WOT for about 3 min and then an alarm went off, the motor shut down and the Water Temp light was on.
I shut the motor off, started it back up and it ran fine (at normal speed), about 30 min later went WOT and the same thing happened.
Just last week we were out skiing and pulling a tube all day long at WOT and it ran fine....
Any thoughts would be appreciated.
