water temp for 1993 150 merc black max

What is th eoperating temp for a 1993 mercury 150 black max and should I be able to run my hand through the water?

I don't know the proper answer but my 135 of the same year runs around 130 when motoring at 10 Knots+ or up to 180 at idle. The water is hot but not enough to scald you. No doubt someone will give you the threshold more accurately, however if you suspect it is running too hot get it checked out as serious damage is just around the corner if you ignore the problem.

Pro, that motor uses 140* thermostats, when the telltale is coming out hard you cant hold your hand in it very long.....

Thanks guys i just bought this 1820 robalo and trying to get it right and noticed steam coming from the water, I guess its just cool water cause I can keep my hand in the "P" of the motor ...Thanks look for my other posts to help me on the water.......
