Water Temp Switch

I have 1989 Mercruiser 470 3.7L 165HP. OK we have all done it and I did it again. I bought the wrong part. I was looking to buy the water temp sending unit but I bought the switch instead. Well anyways I have sense bought a sending unit but thought I would install a the new switch because it is new. Anyways I cannot find where is it located. It is part #1 in the attached photo (part #86080) and of course they don't show where it goes. I have been through the manual and looked on my block and I am stumped. Can anyone point me in the right direction? Or is it just part of the audible alarm system that I don't think my boat has.

The switch is for the alarm. If you don't have the alarm you don't have the switch.

+1 with Thumpar, I do not believe 470's use that switch.

10-4 guys....I had a sneaky suspicion of that. Anyone need a switch?...CHEAP lol!
