1993 225 90deg

I'm doing my homework prior to water pump rebuild - seems straightforward except for one thing - the tube thst carries the water to the engine from the pump - the parts diagram shows no grommets/gaskets/o-rings. Does this part come out with the lower unit or stay with the engine? Is it just a press fit? No grommet or other sealing psrts? Seems strange. The Clymer manual hardly mentions it except to say it comes out and simply goes back!

Re: water tube - impeller replacement

There is currently two different types of water tubes. 1) One is rolled over on the top that won't come out unless you pull the power head and then pull it out from the top. 2) The other one is held into the mid section by a rubber grommet on top. Both of them usually have a rubber grommet that mates the tube to the water pump itself for sealing. Make sure that when you rebuild the water pump, that you install the grommet with the taper in the right direction, otherwise it will bend the rubber grommet over and will limit the water flow.
