Well I finally got the 77 evinrude 35hp motor i am trying out started. While running it in the barrel, I noticed what i thought was water coming out of the fuel line. After inspecting, I realized it was water. Pulled off the cover, and there was water laying in the base of the engine bay. I can not tell where it is coming from. This is not normal is it? By the way, the impeller and everything works ok, it is spitting water just fine. I do not see it leaking from any lines. Thanks.

there is probably a pee hose coming from the top of the block to outside the motor. Check to see if it is not leaking. could also be a gasket. Run it without the cover on and see where it is coming from.
